Royal Honda History
The Royal Automotive story began in 1964 when Vernon Brinson moved to New Orleans and opened a new Oldsmobile dealership at 3400 Veterans Blvd. In seeking a dealership name synonymous with New Orleans, he selected Royal after the world famous French Quarter street name.
Mr. Brinson’s philosophy for operating his new dealership would become as renowned as its record-setting success for decades to follow. The cornerstone of that philosophy was in hiring and training salespersons without prior automotive experience, individuals chosen for their strong integrity, intelligence and character who could serve customers and owners with the highest levels of respect and professionalism.
In 1998, Royal purchased the Honda location at 5600 Veterans Blvd in Metairie, putting in place the same traditions that forged the company’s distinctive reputation as “The Dealership That’s Different.” These traditions have always been outstanding sales and service professionals, excellent customer service and highly competitive prices on new and pre-owned vehicles.
Following Hurricane Katrina, we completely remodeled and moved into our state of the art retail facility.
